Mr. Don C. Lewis, age 75, of Limestone, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

A loving and devoted son, father, husband, papaw, brother and friend, Don battled his illness with the same strength and bravery he lived his life. He was the son of the Mr. J.D. and the late Edna Lewis of Limestone. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lucy Lewis and one daughter, Nancy Lewis.

He was a Farmer.

Survivors include his father, J.D. Lewis; two daughters and their husbands Ann & Jerry Bailey and Becky & Warren Cutshall, all of Limestone; three grandchildren, Amber and husband Brian Hamilton, Ashley and husband Tyler Strickland and Elijah Cutshall; three great-grandsons Colby Brookshire, Mikey Hamilton and Tony Strickland; one brother, Bill Lewis, Johnson City; three sisters, Patsy and husband Leroy Kyker, Telford, Linda Babcock, Greeneville and Joan Lewis, Limestone; and several nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Urbana Cemetery with Pastor Dallas Gregg officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bailey, Warren Cutshall, Tyler Strickland, Brain Hamilton, John Lewis, Allen Kyker and Timmy Lewis.

The family would like to express a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. James McKinney, Dr. A.K. Sen and Medical Staff, Staff of Laughlin ICU and 4 East. And to special friends Montie and Michelle you have been a blessing in all our lives.
