Mr. Gene Osborne, 77, Johnson City, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Osborne was a native of Washington County and son of the late Dave and Ruth Compton Osborne. In addition to his parents, Mr. Osborne was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

He was a member of Hampton Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Osborne was a minister for 50 years.

Mr. Osborne retired from the Johnson City Water Department.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Osborne, of the home; son, Mark (Patty) Osborne, Johnson City; daughter, Debra Osborne Bush (Mike) Bush, Jonesborough; four grandchildren, Harvey Norton, David Osborne, Michelle Ayers, and Kaitlyn Osborne; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Ayers, Makayla Norton, Madison Norton, and Johnny D. Ayers.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Monday, April 23, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Kyle Holloway, Mr. Richard Bailey, Mr. David Greene, and Mr. Randy Boulden officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 Monday prior to the service.

Interment services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Stout Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Norton, David Osborne, Mike Bush, Darrell Stout, Kevin Ayers, and Jeff Erwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Osborne’s many preacher friends.
