Mrs. Doris Wren Freeman, 89, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Freeman was a Washington County native and daughter of the late Dewey I. & Gladys Elizabeth Anderson Leonard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Freeman.

She was a member of Marvin’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Freeman was a graduate of Boones Creek High School and ETSU. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Education Society.

She was a teacher at Fairmont Elementary for 21 years. She also worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Education where she wrote an individualized math program for grades 1 â€" 8.

Survivors include sons, Mike (Janice) Freeman and Lee (Peggy) Freeman, daughters, Janet (Johnny) Gray and Suzanne (Barry) Redman, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Billy Joe Keefauver, Gray, brother and sister-in-law, Don and Bessie Leonard, Johnson City; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Friday, April 20, 2012 at Marvin’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Clowers officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at the church prior to the service.

Entombment will be 1:00 pm Saturday at Washington County Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Redman, Joseph Redman, Mickey Freeman, Jason Freeman, Tim Rowe, Scott Dykes, and Scott Mays.

Memorials may be made to Marvin’s Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1882 Old Boones Creek Rd., Johnson City, TN 37615.
