Mrs. Margaret O’Dell Dykes, age 94, passed away, Monday April 2, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Dykes was a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late Earl M. & Flora Brown O’Dell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dykes was also preceded in death by her husband Worley A. Dykes, three sons Vernon Dykes, Kenneth Dykes and Harold Dykes and three brothers Raymond O’Dell, Earnest O’Dell and Walter O’Dell.

Mrs. Dykes was a Homemaker.

She was a member at New Victory United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ellen Broyles (Paul J.), Limestone, Kathy Pealer (Bruce), Piney Flats and Margaret A. Miller (Johnny), Telford; grandchildren, Tim Broyles, Debbie Jarrett (Allen), Cindy Osborne, Tracy Deakins, Jenny Sells (Frankie), Brittany Pealer, Jim Bob Dykes (Anita), Brian Dykes and Shawn Miller; great-grandchildren Dillon Jarrett, Devin Osborne, Kassidy Dykes, Kaleb Dykes and Kaley Dykes, Logan Deakins and J.D. Deakins, Brooklyn Sells and Emily Miller; sisters, Elizabeth Clark (Carroll), Johnson City and Hazel Bailey, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Juanita O’Dell and Ruby O’Dell, both of Johnson City; brother-in-law, W.H. Dykes, Telford; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, April 6, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Kyker officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Friday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at New Victory Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Victory Methodist Cemetery.
