Mrs. Lillian Jaynes Curtis, age 86, Gray, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Curtis was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Clarence C. & Daisy Bradley Jaynes. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Curtis was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Curtis, two brothers, Marlin Jaynes, Sr. and Dallas Jaynes, one sister, Beatrice Jones.

She was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Curtis retired from Nettie Lee’s Cricket Corner.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Curtis & Ken Showman, Jonesborough; grandson, Preston Showman, Jonesborough; one brother, George Jaynes, Limestone; sisters, Agnes Jones, Johnson City, Argent Erwood, Kingsport, Frances Davis and Hilda Williams, both of Limestone; several nephews and nieces; and three special caregivers, Brandi Young, Joyce Pickering and Marianne Simonson.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to Amedysis Nurses and her caregivers for their loving care and to my special life long girlfriends who provided support during mom’s illness.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Lauri Jo Cranford officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church Building Fund 1432 Gray Sulphur Springs Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659.
