Mr. Everette L. Horton Sr., age 78, Jonesborough, passed away on March 22, 2012 at Unicoi County Hospital.

Mr. Horton was a native of Hillsville, VA and son of the late Roy Cullen and Norma Gladys Nester Horton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie P. Barlow Horton.

He was a member of First Christian Church, Hillsville, VA.

Mr. Horton was an Air Force Veteran.

He worked at AFG Industries, Kingsport for over 40 years.

Survivors include: son, Everette L. Horton, Jr., and wife, Jo Anne, Jonesborough; daughter, Janice Greene, Johnson City; sister, Faye B. Suarez and husband Burnie, Florida; grandchildren, Melissa Bennett and husband, Bobby, James L. Greene and wife, Elizabeth; step-grandchildren, Doug Frosley and wife, Lisa, Carla Morgan, and husband, Charlie; four great grandsons; special friends, Bill Holloway and wife Frankie, Lee Stanley and wife, Bonnie, and Bob White and wife, Sandy.

Interment services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends 12:30-1:30 pm Tuesday at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Doug Frosley, Matthew Greene, Storm Bennett, Stone Bennett, Bobby Bennett and James Greene.

Honorary pallbearer will be Rick Parker and Billy Joe Gibson.
