Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Hamm and Dr. Rev. Tae Hun Yoon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Washington County Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Turner, Mickey Onks, Ricky Keys, Lee Keys, Lynn Keys, Michael Persinger, Steve Barrett and Gene Frye. Honorary pallbearers will be his “Horse Buddies”.

Memorial donations may be made to Eden United Methodist Church Building Fund 1620 Mill Springs Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659.

Mr. Earl Frank Blankenship, age 69, Johnson City, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Blankenship was a native of Washington County and son of the late Jake & Margaret Smith Blankenship. He was a member of Eden United Methodist Church. Mr. Blankenship was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Blankenship breeds and raised Tennessee Walking Horses. He judged walking and racking horses all the United States. He also enjoyed riding horses and riding his motorcycle. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carolyn McMackin Blankenship, Johnson City; brothers and sisters, Bessie Turner, Shirley Hayes, Carolyn Keys, Lydia Cretsinger, Bill Blankenship and wife Jan, J.E. Blankenship and wife Carolyn, Betty Onks and husband Gary, and Wanda Presley and husband Dennis; brother-in-law, Mike McMackin and wife Patty; several nephews and nieces; and many friends made while in the horse business.
