Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am at the Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Greeneville Saturday, February 4, 2012 for a 10:00 am Graveside service.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.


Mr. Thurin “Geter” Ramsey, age 88, long time resident of Limestone, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Ramsey was a native of Greene County and son of the late Robert Bob & Annis Cutshaw Ramsey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramsey was also preceded in death by a sister, Reptha Nease, and six brothers, M.C., Roland, Dolphus, Lowell, Ernie and Sam.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Geter’s working career included several years working as a Carpenter with Bob Smith Construction Company in Greeneville and Barkley’s in Limestone.

Survivors include his wife, Doris J. Phillips Ramsey, Limestone; children, Thurin G. Ramsey, Jr. (Hazel) Louisville, TN, Donna Crowe (James), Bristol, TN, Randall D. Ramsey, Limestone, and Sandra G. Ramsey, Sweetwater, TN; grandchildren, Dustin Vonglis, Stacy Vonglis, Maegan Ramsey, Sean Eller and Brianna Birchfield; three great-grandsons; brothers, Harold M. Ramsey and R.B. Ramsey (Sylvia); and a sister, Madge Crain (Harvey).
