Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Lane officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2012 at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John B. Deakins, Jr, Richard Britton, Ed Deakins, Jr., Jerry Deakins, Mike Deakins, Spencer Jones and Landon Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Deakins, Arthur Hardin and Keith Hardin.

Memorial donations may be made to the church or charity of your choice.

Mrs. Doris Ray Hardin Deakins, age 94, Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Deakins was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late George Price & Beryl Beard Hardin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Deakins was also preceded in death by her husband, Argil A. Deakins, Jr., son, Richard Hardin Deakins, brother, Arthur Hardin and a sister, Charlotte Buxton.

Mrs. Deakins was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Washington College Academy and attended East Tennessee State College and Steed College.

Mrs. Deakins was a Homemaker. She enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren, traveling to Pigeon Forge, shopping for pocketbooks and shoes and really enjoyed her white chocolate candy.

Survivors include four children, David S. Deakins, Argil A. “Bovie” Deakins III and his fiancé Becky Campbell, Judy Deakins Jones and Sandra Deakins Arcidiacono; grandchildren, Cristy Arcidiacono & fiancé Steve Brittin, Teri Arcidiacono Pierce and husband, Shane, Heather Deakins Osborne and husband, Glenn, Spencer Jones and wife Audrey and Landon Jones; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Pierce, Annalea Ray-Winn Ayllon, Katlin Osborne, Emily Osborne and Hayden Deakins Osborne; daughter-in-law, Linda Deakins; special sisters-in-law, Joanne C. Deakins and Helen D. McCrary; and several nephews and nieces.
