Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Crossnoe and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of Bowmantown Baptist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105.


Mrs. Peggy L. Rogers, age 73, Telford, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Rogers was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late John & Jessie Walsh Breeden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Breeden, a brother, Jack Breeden and a granddaughter, Shauna Rogers.

She was a member of Bowmantown Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rogers retired from Appalachian Christian Village as a Register Nurse.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Gerald B. Rogers, of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Rick & Kit Rogers, Jonesborough, Gary Rogers, Jackson, TN, Terry Rogers, of the home and John & Alisa Rogers, Gray; one brother, Jerry Breeden, Johnson City; grandchildren, Ashley Allen (Brandon), Jonesborough, Terry Daniel Rogers, Garrison Rogers, Jesse Rogers, Jacob Rogers and Allie Rogers; great-grandchildren, Dylan Allen, Addisyn Allen and Kylee Rogers; daughter-in-law, Paula Rogers; and several nephews and nieces.
