Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Monday, January 9, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 10:00 am Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Miller, Mike Pitts, Jack Pitts, Bill Toohey, Steve Bagby, Sam Bagby, Mat Miller and Gary Miller.

Mr. H. Don Miller, age 87, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.

Mr. Miller was born in Johnson City and son of the late Earl Matson & Carrie Horton Carr Miller. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was also preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and his beloved dog “Roper”.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City where he served as Deacon.

Mr. Miller was a United States Navy Veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII on the Island of Guam.

He was a graduate of Milligan College and retired Manager of the Hearld & Tribune Newspaper.

Mr. Miller was an avid golfer and former TSSAA Basketball Official.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mat & Pam Miller and Gary & Diane Miller, all of Jonesborough; daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Steve Bagby, Atlantic Beach, FL; brother, Rev. David Miller, Black Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Tarah Lewis, Melinda Miller, Casey Bagby and Sam Bagby; great-grandchildren, Ally Lewis and Brandon Lewis; and mother of his children, Patricia Winn.
