Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.

Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Claude Hensley, Jovi Rose, David Shell, David Keplinger, Jeff Coggins, Greg Thompson and Keith Malone.


Mr. Edwin Earl Thompson, age 86, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.

Mr. Thompson was a native of Washington County and son of the late Alexander & Roxie Henley Thompson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by his wife, Etta Mae Thompson and a brother-in-law, Arvel Hughes.

He was a member of Seviers United Methodist Church.

Mr. Thompson was a Farmer.

He was a United States Navy Veteran.

Survivors include two brothers, David Kenneth Thompson, Johnson City and Teddy Louis Thompson and wife, Barbara, Jonesborough; sister, Jessie Mae Hughes, Johnson City; special friend, Gladys Wilson, Jonesborough; several nieces, nephews and his breakfast friends at Hardee’s.
