John was born and raised in Jonesborough.

He graduated from David Crockett High School.

He is married to Deborah Davenport Moore, they have two sons, Wesley & Isaac.

John is a member of Grace Brethren Church in Limestone, where he serves as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Worship Leader.

John & Debbie enjoy camping and riding motorcycles.
