Georgia ‘Granny’ Doris Dula Hoss, 100, of Jonesborough, joined the heavenly host in the early morning of Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”
Georgia was a native of Avery County, NC and was the daughter of Ralph Buxton and Sada Dula.
One of the most kind and generous women to ever live in the Jonesborough community, Georgia was a founding and lifetime member of Community Baptist Church, Jonesborough. She dedicated several hours a day to reading scripture and enjoyed fellowship with any visitors that stopped by. She loved her family and enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Ralph Hoss. Also preceding here in death were four sisters, three brothers, one son, James Hobart Hoss, one daughter-in-law, Peggy Taylor Hoss, three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Those left to remember the sweet life of Georgia include one daughter, Anna Tolley (Don); four sons, Hubert Hoss (Laurene), Mike Hoss (Sarah), Steve Hoss and Eddie Hoss (Betty); 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren (with two on the way) and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heavenly Sonshine, Four Oaks Healthcare Center and special caregiver, Debra Bushaw for their wonderful loving care.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, June 14, 2019 at Community Baptist Church with Pastor David Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm Friday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
