Mr. William “Basil” Broyles, age 76, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his residence, after a short illness, with his wife and family by his side.
Mr. Broyles was a native of Washington County, TN.
He was a long-time employee for Sherwood Chevrolet and retired from Minco Industries. He enjoyed league bowling, camping and fishing with family and son, Tim. He also loved spending time with his special dog, Tebow.
He was the son of the late Kenneth Broyles and Lola Ruth Gnann. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Trissie Fetter.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Shelby Broyles; one daughter, Ronna Boggs, Jonesborough; one son, Tim Hensley, Limestone; three grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Brown, Heather A. Jones and Matthew Hammitt; five great-grandchildren, Tyler & Evan Brown, Aaron George & Nicholas Jones and Shadia Hammitt; a very special brother and sister, Jim & Bettie Boggs; three biological daughters, Wendy, Christy, & Angie Broyles; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express a special thank you to his cousin Barbara & Rick Ledford, also his hospice caregivers, Judy Hensley and Shane Casey for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Monte Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tony Sparks, Brian Moody, Rick Ledford, Bobby Hensley, Jerry Bitner and Matthew Hammitt.
