Sure sad to hear of your loss. Mr. Pete was a really good friend and enjoyed stopping by after I retired from Washington County. Mr. Pete always had a few good stories and advice for the way things were happening at the time. Will never forget the trip to Burkes Garden, Virginia. Many Thanks for the good times and all the good friendship.

Pete Bowman was a wise and interesting man. As his niece, I enjoyed listening to his recollections about our family, and what it was like to grow up during the Great Depression. He wrote down many of his stories, which can now be shared with future generations. Uncle Pete never knew a stranger, for he always strived to make connections with others. He was a hardworking man, and was respected by all those who knew him. Throughout his retirement, he continued reading and learning about a variety of topics. He consistently showed his love for the Lord and love for his family. I will miss you, Uncle Pete, but hope to see you again one day in Heaven. I’ll search for the Colonel Sanders look-alike wearing a bolo tie, and telling all the angels about the beautiful Sulphur Springs Valley.
