Lela Bell Dugger


Mrs. Lela Bell “Petie” Dugger, age 82, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Dugger was born in Washington County, and the daughter of the late Tiny & Lucy Beatrice Baker Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Commie Dugger, a son, Jimmy Lee Dugger, brother, Jim Miller and a sister, Evelene Miller.
She was a Christian woman, loved her flower beds and being outside.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Dugger, Jeff Dugger and Michael Dugger, all of Jonesborough; two daughters, Teresa Birchfield and Mellissa Dugger, both of Jonesborough; one brother, Carl Miller, Johnson City; sisters, Charlotte Feathers, Johnson City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Rev. Leonard Repass officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Dugger Cemetery. The family request friends meet at the funeral home at 1:15 pm Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery
Pallbearers will be Jeff Dugger, Michael Dugger, Jereth Dugger, Danny Wayne Birchfield, Jeremiah Henderson and Levi Mathes. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Dugger and Chad Hughes.

I was very saddened to read of Petie's passing. She was always very good to me as a child. I remember she always had a smile on her face. Another remembrance I have is that Commie always called her Lela, not Petie. She was a kind and wonderful lady. May God grant her family strength and courage during this difficult time.
