Mrs. Ruth Moyers Stephens, age 94, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Stephens was born in Washington County and daughter of the late Opie Niles & Winne Ball Moyers. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Lawrence Stephens and a sister, Edith Good.
She was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Stephens was a Nurse at the Budd Clinic in Johnson City and a Seamstress. She sewed for many people including the Washington County Schools. She also enjoyed gardening and won the Public Service Award.
Survivors include her daughter, Johna Farrar (Lanny), Fall Branch; son, Richard Stephens (Terry), Jonesborough; grandchildren, Troy Stephens, (Laura) and Kyle Stephens; great-grandchildren, Myka Stephens, Amelia Stephens and Connor Stephens.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her caregivers, Judy Deakins and Regina Derrick for their wonderful loving care.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Davis and Pastor Sarah Wells officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church 878 Hwy 81 N. Jonesborough, Tennessee 37659.
